Pudding Creek, Mendocino County, Northern California
This location is fast becoming my "go to" place to capture the often dramatic sunsets that we are lucky to experience here on the Northcoast.
Blues Beach Storm.
Dramtic weather often found here on the Northcoast, providing a stunning canvas to work with.
Stepping into the unknown
Steps heading down into a full Lake Mendocino, foggy, moody, atmospheric, just what I like to work with.
About the Image.
Welcome to "About the Image", a monthly in-depth look into the creative process of one of my images,
The early morning fog on Clearlake can be both mysterious and beautiful. I've driven past this pier with metal railings benches countless times, funny how that happens, one day a composition strikes you, and you have to shoot it.
The minimalistic composition with the architectural components struck me as being beautiful and I knew the only way to really convey its simplicity would be in Black and White using a long exposure.
Since shooting this image I have been waiting for the right conditions so as to revisit and maybe shoot it a little differently,
